Everyone needs vitamins and minerals. They help release energy from our food and help build muscle, bone, blood and other vital tissue. Without vitamins and minerals, we cannot maintain good health and normal growth.
During the active, growing years of childhood, it is important to ensure that children receive all the vitamins and minerals they need every day. Since the body does not store all essential vitamins and minerals, some have to be supplied on a regular basis. Unfortunately, many Americans have poor eating habits which can make it difficult to get all of the vitamins and minerals we need from our food.
To supplement your diet, Flintstones can be taken to help assure adequate nutrition.
(The following chart lists common vitamins and minerals and their functions. Please refer to individual products for complete formulas.)
Helps support imune health.
Vitamin A as beta-carotene
Form of vitamin A thought to function as an antioxidant, which may provide protection against cell-damaging free radicals. Beta-carotene is found in dark green and orange vegetables and fruit that often are lacking in children's diets.
Our multivitamins are designed to help ensure that your child is getting the nutritional support they may need every day. Our supplements are not a replacement for a daily multivitamin, and can be taken to provide specific support for key benefits like brain support.

Your body will absorb as much of the water soluble vitamins as needed (all B and C vitamins) and the excess amounts are excreted through your urine. Fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) are stored in fat cells and in your liver. Your body controls the amount absorbed; you get increased absorption when there are vitamin deficiencies in your diet.
All of the Flintstones Products that contain wheat or wheat derived ingredients are labeled "contains Wheat" as required by the FDA. However, products not labeled as containing wheat cannot be guaranteed gluten free because raw materials received from outside vendors are not certified as 100% gluten free.
The Flintstones Complete formula contains aspartame. The aspartame masks the bitter taste of calcium found in both of these formulas. Sugar would be needed in large amounts to mask such a bitter flavor and would make the tablet too large.
The Daily Value of Vitamin D was increased to 50% more than the previous formula based on recommendations of the Institute of Medicine (IOM)†. The recommendation for the daily dietary allowance was increased from 400IU to 600IU for children 2 years of age and older.
